Hello Everyone,
Well, it is Monday and it has been non-stop since arriving back home on Thursday afternoon at 4pm. As you know, three of us had to leave Kenya before the 2nd well was completed. So, I wanted to provide you with an update on the situation there. I talked with Caleb on Friday afternoon and he shared that they had drilled down to about 70 feet and was starting to see some water seep into the hole. Not much so the plans were to continue drilling until they had ample supply of water in the borehole to take care of the people in the area. Still not sure how deep they were going to need to go. Unfortunately, after Caleb and Kemp had returned to the hotel that evening, they received a call from the village that one of the drilling tools, a 5" stubber, had broken and fallen into the well. Not sure how that happened but it has caused the operation to stop until it can be retrieved from the well. Caleb did go back out there Saturday morning before they had to return to Nairobi for home. They were not able to retrieve it on Saturday and know that Joseph and Chris were going to be back out there this morning to try again and bring the tool back up to the surface. I have not had an update today so I don't know whether they have been successful or not. Please pray with us that the men are able to recover the tool and continue drilling until there is enough water in place to provide adequate water for the villagers.
Thanks to everyone that has providing funds for the trip as well as all of the prayers. We were so blessed by the experience and have begun seeing many more opportunities for ministry in Kenya.
Keep watching the blogsite as I will post more once we see the well to completion.
May God grant you favor each day as you serve Him.
God Bless You.

Made it to NYC
Hello from NYC,
Rick, Corey and I made it back to New York this evening around 7:30 after about 17 hours of flight time. To say the least, we are all exhausted but still floating high from all the great things we experienced on the trip. We did get a report on the second well on Tuesday evening and they were able to drill an additional 19 feet but still had not reached the water table. That put them at 65 feet as of Tuesday evening. We have not heard from them today so not sure what the status is but am expecting to hear they reached the water.
Brother Joseph accompanied us back to Nairobi mainly to protect us but to also get the one remaining box that did not arrive with the other items. That box included a 6" stubber, one of the drill bits used occasionally. Our departing remarks were made last night with Joseph and it was a special time as we reflected on the trip as well as all he did to assist us with the arrangements.
Rick and I will be back in OKC tomorrow afternoon and ready to sleep in our own beds. I have many pictures to review and hope to post pictures this weekend. Corey is a professional photographer and works for the NY Post newspaper on weekends. So, he was able to capture some amazing shots.
I will post again tomorrow evening hopefully with great news.
God Bless you.

Official Presentation
Good Evening from Kenya. We had a really good day and reached a level of 46 feet. Still no water but we could almost smell it. We are quite confident that the remaining team will reach it in the next day or so. So, I'm hoping to hear from them by the time we reach NYC on Wednesday evening that they have set the pump and pumping water.
After my morning post, we had another pastor that I met last year with the RSI team that drove 31/2 hours to come see what we were doing. Pastor Martin Shikuku from Eldoret was all excited and wants us to come to his church and drill a well as soon as possible. It sounds like a really good place to go as the water table is only 12 feet down. So, we should be able to drill a well there in a matter of two days. Brother Joseph has been receiving calls for the last few days from all over Kenya as the word has been spreading. We are overwhelmed by the response and believing that God is paving the way for many more chances to return.
Probably the highlight of the day is the gift I received from the Elder of the village. It is customary to give a gift to a person that has done a great favor. So, I am officially the owner of my own goat!! Yes, a goat and I have pictures to prove it. Now, I haven't figured out just how to get it home plus I don't think Denise will be too thrilled to have a goat as a house pet. So, I've had to pay someone in the village to care for my goat until I return. It will be worth much more then, anyway. We've gotten a good laugh over this. I'll try and post a picture but still having trouble downloading them to the blog.
Tonight will be our last night for three of us. Tomorrow morning, we take a 7 hour bus ride back to Niarobi and fly out Wednesday morning for NY and then on home on Thursday. I really want to thank you again for your prayers, your thoughts, your messages of encouragement. They have been a blessing to me as well as the rest of the team.
I'll update any news that may be relevant before I return. So, check in later.
Have a blessed night.

Progress being made
Great Monday Morning from the well site. So much has happened since my last post that I will try and update you as much as possible at this time. Yesterday was a glorious day of worship and praise. We had a wonderful time visiting a church in Kisumu where we had a chance to introduce and share God's word with those that were in attendance. Brother Corey from the team shared a song with the congregation and Brother Kemp brought a powerful message on Faith. You could not be there and not feel the Spirit of God throughout the place. We saw one person accept Christ along with many others that were prayed over. It was a glorious time.
Following the service, the Sr. Pastor of the church invited all of us to his home for a meal. Wow, we were made to feel very special and very welcomed. It is just so amazing to experience the hospitality of the Kenyan people.
Because we knew it would be rather late before we were able to return to the drilling area, we made a decision to use the day for a time of relaxation and regeneration of our spirit. Even though it has not been that streneous because the villagers have really caught on to the process and are doing the work, we enjoyed the day just reflecting on the trip so far and planning for the future. We spent the afternoon enjoying another midday lunch with pizza and Indian food topped off with dessert of mikeshakes or browne sundae with hot chocolate at the Laughing Budda Lounge and Grill. A really neat experience. But that wasn't enough food for us. After returning to our hotel, we had dinner that evening. So, as you can read, we have not suffered from lack of food. We all believe that we will return home heavier than we came and that was not our plans by any means.
Last night, we had a time of sharing and it was probably the most amazing time I have ever experienced on a mission trip. We have seen God work many miracles throughout the planning and during our time here. With four Kenyan pastors on our team, we have been able to grasp the culture amazingly well plus see men that I know God will say "Well Done my good and faithful servant" . They have been such a pleasing to all of us. Everyone shared from their hearts and it was truly a spiritual moment for all of us.
So, today is a very important day of drilling. It is right now 11:45am and they have reached a level of 40 feet or so and making good progress. We are not sure at what level we will reach the water table but we estimate somewhere around 65 feet. Chances are we won't reach that before Rick, Corey and me have to return to the US starting tomorrow. However, I expect by the time we return home, they will have reached the water and set the pump. We have had visitors today from World Neighbors, Chris Macoloo (Asst. VP for Africa) and Nicholas Abuya from the Kisumu office and they were anxious to see the operation. Chris had been to the Water4's office back last October but he confessed today that he thought it was a fantasy idea until today. He was very impressed and is already talking about future projects for this area as well as other countries. They have been introduced to our African Pastors on the team and meetings already set up for next week to continue discussions. Oh My, so much more that we expected but believe that God is working for us in a great and mighty way.
We are realizing other new opportunities for ministry here in Kenya that we started conversations about on Thursday of last week. Denise and I have both been praying about ways she could be involved even more in what God has been doing with me. We are having discussions now about her coming to Kenya to train young girls and mothers/wifes to sew. The pastors and their wives are s0 excited about the possibilities. I would ask you to be in prayer for us as we explore this possibility. The need is so great for the women to learn and trade and be able to earn some income.
I must go as my battery is about gone. I'll update more this evening.
God Bless.

A Good Day by All
Well, we made great progress today on the second well. We were able to drill 30+ feet in one day which was great compared to the 1st well we attempted. We had a large group of men from the village area come and help and they were quick learners. We found our selves taking life pretty easy as the day progressed as the village men were pretty much able to do the drilling. But that is exactly what we hope for. We remain encouraged that we will hit water somewhere around 60-70 feet and that should happen on Monday. Tomorrow, we will be attending church in Kisumu.
Everyone is doing great. I know for my self, I'm very tired with plans to turn in earlier than I have been since coming here.
I will be attaching a few pictures for you to see shortly.
That's it for today. Have a blessed evening.

Update on Kemp's mother and Progress Report
Hello Everyone,
We have received word that Kemp's mother, Davidann, is doing ok and did not have to stay at the hospital. It's possibly a case of verdigo and they are comfortable that she is OK. Thanks for the prayers.
We are on site of the 2nd well and we have been drilling now for 2 hours. We have reached a depth of 16 feet. The village men have caught on the process amazingly well and the team is simply watching them perform. What an awesome sight! I will post some pictures this evening.

Need Prayers for Team Member's Mother
I wanted to mention one more thing before I turn in for the night. Kemp Ward received a call about 6:30 or so this evening from some family members that they were transporting his mother to the hospital with a possible stroke. We stopped immediately and had a time of prayer for her. I would ask you to be lifting his mother up in your prayers, as well. It's really tough to be so far away when someone you care for is needing you. Kemp and Kim have been here in Africa now for over 45 days and won't be returning until around Sept. 3rd. A long time but the stories they have to share are amazing. Thank you for praying for Kemp's mother. I'll update you on her condition tomorrow evening.
We've Moved!
Hello Everyone,
I apologize for the delay in posting but could not get internet access last night in order to do an update. So, this one will be interesting. First, I must say that we have been on somewhat of a rollercoaster ride the last couple of days. When we started drilling on Wednesday, we very soon in the process, about 10 feet or so, we hit rock and not the positive kind of rock that our equipment can handle. We hit rocks that vary in size from pebbles to small boulders and what happens is the equipment can't break them up effectively or at all. So, Thursday morning, we made the decision to try and dig down to the rock level and hopefully dig through it by hand. Not an easy task. We had approximately 10 men there to help and they worked all day long and were able to reach a level of about 6 feet with a 6 foot diameter hole. This morning, they started again and reached a level of about 10 feet or so before we had to make a tough call knowing we had another well that needed to get started tomorrow. One of the toughest decisions I've had to help make because our objective was to come and drill two wells and return home with them functioning properly. It was tough to share our decision with Pastor Jack. What we agreed to do was have the two men from Water4, Kemp Ward and Caleb Holsey, return next week after we have hopefully completed the second well and possibly be able to finish the first one. We have asked them to continue digging as deep as possible and try and get past the rock layer. Please join us in praying for success there and that the guys can go back and complete the job. If it proves to be impossible, we will have to weigh out other options. I know the villagers were very disappointed as well as we are but we also know it's in God's hands and we trust that to be the case.
I, fortunately or unfortunately, was away from the first well site much of Thursday making contacts with other ministries in Kisumu that I have had contact with. It was one of the most highly emotional days I have ever experienced - on the positive side. I had a chance to visit one of the hospitals in Kisumu and visit with the medical director there along with seeing the laboratory's operation. We had a chance to pray over the patients. One of the patients was a young girl of about 12 years old suffering from an crisis phase of Sickle Cell anemia. Her mother is MaMa Chris and works at a orphanage started by a lady in Oklahoma City by the name of Beatrice Williamson and I had contacted the orphanage after talking with Chris Cotner with Water4 and he said if possible to go by and visit. It was way, way on the outskirts of Kisumu on some of the roughest roads I've ever experienced (until today). The visit to the orphanage was so touching and special, I couldn't help but get emotional as I talk about it. To see those precious children being cared for by very special people was overwhelming to say the least. It was an awesome opportunity.
I then had a chance to visit with Bishop Zephaniah Orao, a well known pastor in Kenya. Bishop Zephaniah has been working with a ministry based in McAlester called DeNike Ministries and I had a chance to visit with Frank Denike a week or so before I left to come to Kenya and he helped make arrangements for me to visit with Bishop Zephaniah. What a wonderful blessing that was.
Once returning to the first site, it was soon time for a good ole time of worship and praise and if you have never been to Africa, you have missed one of the most amazing times of worship. The Kenyans do know how to worship our Almight God!!! We felt as if we are in heaven already. It was a wonderful time sharing with the people of that village. We were all filled to overflowing.
As I mentioned above, today was a difficult day as we had to move to the new site. But, oh, what a need the second site has for fresh water. The site is located close to a church way out in the boonies where the road to the site was simply the wildest ride you can imagine, down cattle trails, washed out roads, crevices, thorn bushes. We were at the home of Pastor Joshua who has been our driver since arriving in Nairobi. As we pulled into the area close to where we would be drilling the well, Joshua showed us their current source of water which was simply a dirty, filthy pond with overgrowth and where the cattle and goats and sheep and many other animals, I'm sure, comes to water. It was worse than most ponds that I have ever been around. They continue to have problems with Typhoid which is no wonder. The soil is obviously better for doing the type of drilling we do. So, we are extremely optimistic as to our success with this well. But, we really need your continued prayers.
Well, it is very late on Friday night and will close by saying that our God is an Awesome God! The people of Kenya are the friendliest people you can imagine. And we have already been blessed so much by being here and fellowshipping with like believers many 1000's of miles away from our home.
I hope to be able to share more encouraging news tomorrow night so be sure and check in.
God Bless You.

What a glorious day!
Good Wednesday evening for Kisumu area. We have had a really great day today and we are rejoicing tonight. Today was spent mostly around gathering the additional drilling supplies and making sure we had all the right stuff. It was somewhat of a challenge getting the right PVC pipe but it will be to us on Friday which should be just in time, we hope. We made it to the drill site around 2:30 this afternoon and began the training and assembling the tripod. Once we arrived, Pastor Jack of the church there in the village invited us to his home for a time of prayer and eating. We had a chance to experience Ugali for the first time. Kind of like cornbread for all you Americans. Meal included chicken (including the head which I ate). Joseph just told me that eating the head of a chicken means "Man of High Honor". That is a Kenyan, Luo Tribe custom belief. We also had Sukuma Wiki, a vegetable which means "Pushing the Week". Have you learnd something today? The pastor and his family was so gracious for providing us a meal and we prayed over his home. Then it was off to the well site which was about 100m from his house and about 20m from the church. We had around 10 men from the village to come and learn the process and it was catching on very well to the way it is done. We were finally able to begin drilling around 3:45 and managed to get down to about 5 feet and hit ROCK!! We were not quite ready for rock at that level. So, we began the pounding of the rock trying to break it up. We made little progress before quitting time but that give us time to stategize on next steps.
We then had our first opportunity for some us to enjoy a time of worship and praise with the people and what a blessing it was. Caleb, our Water4 leader, blessed with great words and the people loved it. He says his not a preacher but he didn't prove that tonight. Oh, it was such a joy to experience the day. Many of us were very emotional as we talked through the events.
Everyone is doing just fine physically and we appreciate the prayers for good health. Please keep them coming.
Here are couple of things you can be praying specifically for:
Still need to find and get the gravel/rock that we need.
For all the team members that their spirits will remain high and have plenty of energy
For the villagers that are helping and learning the process.
God Bless you!

Made it to Kisumu
Greetings from Kisumu. We made the 8 hour van drive from Nairobi to Kisumu today on good roads and not so good roads. Everyone is in great spirits and ready to begin drilling tomorrow. Everything has gone as planned with only one package of our drilling equipment did not make it to Nairobi last night but arrived this morning. I consider that a major God thing. We didn't have to pay anyone extra to get the supplies through which is a God thing too. I was surprised to have a one of the pastors from last summer's Reaching Souls trip meet us at the hotel. Pastor Jimmy is truly a special man and he is joining us on the team to help with the drilling. Once we arrived at our hotel in Kisumu, I again, was surprised to see Pastor Christopher there to meet us. He too, will be working with us. The wonderful thing with having these pastors join us is that it opens up many other opportunities for us to come and drill additional wells in the future. Be much in prayer for all us as I know you have been. It has been very evident.
I look forward to sharing with you tomorrow evening on the events of the day.
God Bless!!

Greetings from Amsterdam
Hello Everyone,
Well, we have made it to Amsterdam with a 3 hour layover before we leave for our last leg of the trip over to Nairobi, Kenya. So far, everything has gone as clock work and we had a great time in NYC getting a taste of the city, quick visits to Central Park, South Ferry, Empire State Building, Ground Zero, and John Lennon's memorial site. We stayed at the Salisbury Hotel which is owned by Calvary Baptist Church and just a few blocks away from Time Square. We had a wonderful service Sunday morning fellowshipping at Calvary. We connected with Corey Melton, our other team member and join him and his wife, Sebrina, and 6 month old Selah and Sebrina's mother, Linda for a great Indian lunch before heading to JFK for a 6:30pm departure.
So, we sit and wait for really the longest leg of the trip on to Nairobi. This will be the first experience for the three of us on a Boeing 747. It truly has already been a blessed trip and we haven't even made it to our destination yet.
We all have a sense of God's presence in a mighty way and believe that our lives are going to be so impacted by the experience and we look forward to sharing much of the details with you. Continue to lift us up in your prayers. We thank you for those prayers.
Stay tuned for the latest!!

Dear Friends and Supporters,
I hope this message finds everyone doing well and being blessed by God’s grace and love. I am excited to share details with you about my next great adventure. As many of you know, I had the privilege to go to Kenya in 2009 with Reaching Souls International where we had the opportunity to train pastors and evangelists from throughout Kenya. While there, I became close friends with Evangelist Joseph Ogwang and have developed quite a strong bond with him. We have been in much prayer that God would open up other opportunities for us to minister together. As I was preparing to go to Peru back in March to drill for water, God began laying upon Joseph’s heart about the possibility of a team coming to Kenya to do the same. As he shared with me what God was speaking to him, I too, was hearing God’s calling to go to Kenya.
The time is now here. This Saturday, I will join Water4 (www.water4.org) in taking a team to Kenya for the purpose of drilling water wells in remote villages. We will arrive in Nairobi, Kenya on Monday and travel from there to the city of Kisumu in SW Kenya where we have identified two locations in great need of clean, fresh water.
In the email message with the letter, I give you a website where you can get a sense of what it is like to have fresh, clean water for the first time. That is what it is all about. We bring them fresh water which then provides a way for us to share the Living Water through Jesus Christ to the multitudes. PTL!
As the day arrives, I would like to ask a favor from each of you. There are several needs that we have as we prepare to depart and while we are there in Kenya. First and foremost, we need your prayers. We need your prayers for safety, health, good weather for drilling, good soil conditions in order to produce 2 good wells, good travel connections and accommodations. Be much in prayer for the people we will be working with and ministering to in the Kisumu and Nyando area of SW Kenya. Brother Joseph has prepared the people well for our coming and he has great plans for times of worship and praise and celebration. Pray specifically for those men that will be helping us drill as well as learning the process so they can then go out and drill wells themselves. Pray for the ones that will be preparing the food for us. Pray for the church that is providing us with a van for transportation.
Pray for the team members going and their families while away:
Brad Adams Caleb Halsey (Water4)
Rick Buckles Kemp and Kim Ward (Water4)
Corey Melton
I also urge you to prayerfully consider supporting this effort with a financial contribution toward the expense of drilling materials, permit fees and travel expenses. The outstanding need is approximately $3200, but don’t let that number intimidate you. Pray about it first, and then give only what you feel led to give. As with the 5 loaves and two fishes, God can multiply even the smallest gift to meet the biggest of needs, to share His truth, and to change lives.
Contributions can be mailed to my home address at 916 Eagle Ridge Run, Tuttle, Oklahoma 73089. Checks should be made payable to Brad Adams.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and support. I look forward to sharing with each of you the results of our trip to Kenya,
May God bless you beyond measure today.
In Christ Name,
Brad Adams
